45 minutes
This cozy stew is perfect for pups who love a warm, home-cooked meal. Made with lean pork, soft-cooked brown rice, and gently simmered veggies, it's easy to digest and full of flavor.
Ingredients
¼ cup brown rice, uncooked (75g or 2.65oz)
1 lb ground pork (5% fat) (453g or 16oz)
1 TSP Chia Seeds (3g or 0.11oz)
1 ½ cups of water
1 cup green beans, chopped (60g or 2.12oz)
1 carrot, chopped (60g or 2.12oz)
1 TSP sunflower seeds, chopped finely (5g or 0.18oz)
2 ½ TBSP Dog Child Essential Nutrient Mix (24g or 0.85oz)
Directions
Rinse the rice thoroughly, then cook with ¾ to 1 cup of water over low heat for 30–45 minutes, until very soft—softer than you'd cook for yourself. Add more water as needed.
While the rice cooks, heat a pan over medium-low and add the pork, beans, carrots, chia seeds, and water. Simmer for about 15 minutes, until the pork is fully cooked and veggies are tender. Cooking the chia seeds helps improve absorption and digestion.
Stir in the cooked rice and finely chopped or ground sunflower seeds. Let the mixture cool, then add the Dog Child Essential Nutrient Mix. Mix well, portion, and store in the fridge for up to 3 days or freeze for later.
